My Summer in Ukraine - FULL DOCUMENTARY
My Summer in Ukraine is a four-part documentary series from TV producer and Ukrainian supporter Robert G. Rose that documents some of what he witnessed during his fifth and most in-depth trip to Ukraine.
In June of 2023, Rob grabbed his camera gear and prepared for the journey of a lifetime.
He headed to Ukraine during an intense period of war to connect with U.S. Marine and humanitarian Mark Cary and his partner in humanitarian assistance, Hymie Dunn, from the United Kingdom, as they made missions into parts of eastern and southern Ukraine.
WITNESS LIFE IN UKRAINE TODAY AND HUMANITARIANS AT WORK. Through a combination of solo travel, and travel that included embedding with the aforementioned and other humanitarians, plus travels with Anastasia Zui, a Ukrainian videographer, Rob was able to visit several towns, villages, and cities all over Ukraine, including several spots in or near active bombardment, such as Odesa, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, and more.
He was also able to embed with Ukrainian troops during a kamikaze drone school training program as well as a top-secret military hospital working to rehabilitate amputee Ukrainian soldiers.
He filmed other filmmakers working in Ukraine and several individual volunteers and humanitarian organizations locally and worldwide, each with tales of courage and sacrifice.
EXPERIENCE RUSSIA'S DESTRUCTIVE WAR ON UKRAINE. Rob's travels coincidentally coincided just days after the Russians blew up the Kakhovka Dam, flooded massive areas of Kherson Oblast, and he was able to document the destructive aftermath.
He was just miles away from the action during now deceased (murdered) Wagner chief and war criminal Yevgeny Prigozhin's ill-fated coupe against Putin's Russian forces.
The life-changing month-long epic journey was full of ups and downs, joy and sorrow, boredom, fun, and, at times, yes, danger.
